Feb. 18, 2017 DUANE F. REUTHER Battle Creek Duane F. Reuther of Battle Creek, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017 at Bronson Hospital, Kalamazoo, after a brief illness. He was born September 8, 1936 in Lake Odessa, son of the late Fred and Norma (Rowley) Reuther. He grew up in Woodland and graduated from Woodland High School and the Flint Barber School. He worked as a barber and in sales most of his life. He was a musician, played bass in several bands and also was involved in church music at Zion Lutheran in Woodland and St. Peter's Lutheran in Battle Creek. Duane was preceded in death by his wife, Anne. He is survived by a daughter, Linda (William) Young of Big Rapids and a son, Steven, of Battle Creek; two grandchildren, Ben (Emma) Young of Kalamazoo and Mary Emma Young of Grand Rapids; sister, Joanne (William) Musselman of Kalamazoo and several cousins and many friends. Services were held at the Koops Funeral Home in lake Odessa on Monday, Feb. 13, 2017, officiated by Rev. Polly Standley. Interment took place in Woodland Memorial Park. Memorials to a charity of one's choice.
