Wave, Thurs. May 26, 1960 Carl Reuther Passed Away Sat. Carl Reuther, 60, farmer of route one, Woodland, passed away at Pennock hospital, Saturday afternoon. He had been hospitalized for three weeks with a heart ailment. He came from Bay City when a year old with his parents, Frederick and Anna Reuther to the Woodland area, and he has spent his life in that area. He married Gertrude Velte, December 24, 1924 and they have also lived all their married life in the same vicinity. Mr. Reuther was a member of the Woodland Methodist church and was a trustee of the official church board. Surviving are his wife; two daughters; Mrs. Donald (Rosemary) Borton of Hastings and Mrs. Duane (Ann Marie) Bump of Woodland; one sister; Mrs. Edgar (Frieda) Reiser and two brothers; Fred and Eugene, all of Woodland and three grandchildren. Mr. Reuther reposed at the Pickens Funeral Chapel until Tuesday forenoon then was taken to Woodland Methodist Church where funeral services were held at 1:30 with burial in the Woodland Memorial Park cemetery. Rev. Marvin Zimmerman and Rev. Robert Richardson officiated.
