The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Wednesday, August 31, 1949

Mrs. Jennie E. Reynolds, 91, of 520 North Jefferson street died Tuesday, 
August 30, at 1 p.m.  

She was born December 17, 1857 in Brookfield, Madison county, New York, the 
only child of Gilbert and Emily Gerton.  At the age of seven soon after the 
death of her father she and her mother came to Michigan, and lived for a few 
years with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George Tew, of Orange township.  She 
lived most of her girlhood in Easton township, attended Ionia high school, and 
later taught in district schools.

She was married to Richard B. Reynolds November 6, 1883.  They had two 
children.  The family moved to Ionia in 1891.  She was a member of the First 
Methodist church, taking an active part in the church’s organizations during 
her younger years.

Surviving are a daughter, Miss Amy Reynolds, who has lived with her mother 
since the death of an another daughter, Miss Flora Reynolds, in 1943.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 1, at 2:30 p.m. from 
Boynton’s funeral home.  Interment will be in the Easton cemetery.  Please 
omit flowers.
