His death occurred Friday, August 9, following a long illness, which began about the first of April. Mr. Reynolds was born at Dildine Corners, in Easton, November 7, 1850, on the farm of his parents, Charles W. and Eleanor Bishop Reynolds, who were early pioneers of Ionia county. His early life was spent on the farm and he attended the Dildine school in his youth. He attended the Dildine church and took an active part in the affairs of the district, serving as one of the oldest and most interested members of the Dildine school association, and chairman of the board of trustees at the building of the Dildine church. On August 19, 1880, he was married to Emma Jane Blewer whose death occurred March 7, 1933. Of their four children three are living, Roy L., who is with the Weyerhauser Lumber Co. of Tacoma, Wash., Mrs. Henry T. Welch, of Ionia township, and Miss Mabel Reynolds, who cared for her father in his last illness. A son, Clair H. died in Detroit, July 9, 1939. Grandchildren surviving are William and Clarice Reynolds and Mrs. J. E. Purtney, of Detroit; Douglas and Emma Jane Welch of Ionia, and William Richard and John Reynolds, of Tacoma.
