He was born in Guestville, Ky., June 3, 1902, the son of Barnaby and Sally Prier Reynolds. He attended schools in Kentucky and served in the U.S. Army during World War I. He was married to Ida Hickey on Oct. 16, 1922, in Kentucky. They moved to Michigan in 1933 and to Ionia in 1936. He worked at Fisher Body in Lansing, Hayes-Ionia Manufacturing Co., A.O. Smith Inc., and Ionia Manufacturing Co., before retiring in Oct. 1966. After retiring he and his wife made their retirement home in Bullhead City, Ariz., and returned to Ionia in 1981. He was a member of Ionia First Baptist Church. Surviving, in addition to his wife Ida, are: two sons, Kenneth of Ionia and James of Saranac; three daughters, Mrs. William (Sarah) Pearce of Ionia, Mrs. Samuel (Patricia) Schwab of St. Charles, Mo., and Mrs. Glenn (Dolores) Taylor of Ionia; 18 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Also surviving are: a brother, Charles, of Topock, Ariz.; and a sister, Mrs. Grace Hayden, of Fort Royal, Kentucky. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. from the Leddick Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mark Bouchard of Ionia First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Balcom Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home Monday and Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. A memorial for the Michigan Heart Association has been established, in care of the funeral home.
