Calista C. Carver was born in York township, Washtenaw county, Mich., Oct. 15, 
1821, where her girlhood life was spent.  When 21 years of age she was married 
to Wm. Reynolds, a young man of her native town.  Soon after their marriage 
they came to Hubbardston where the balance of her life has been lived.  Four 
children were given to them, three boys and one daughter, one son and the 
daughter dying in childhood, two sons William and Clarence growing to 
manhood.  The latter went to Alaska a few years ago.  He was too far away to 
be reached during his mother’s last sickness.  The other son William, who is a 
traveling salesman, has been his mother’s constant companion for years and was 
with her during her last sickness.  She passed away at the old home in 
Hubbardston October 27, 1913.

At an early age Mrs. Reynolds was converted and united with the M. E. church 
at Hubbardston remaining faithful to it until her death.  She leaves to mourn 
her demise the two sons mentioned, two cousins, James Carver, living at 
Horton, Mich., and Mrs. Ella Cobb, and Grandville, Mich.; three grandchildren 
and a host of friends among the people of Hubbardston where so many years of 
her life had been spent.  Her husband preceded her in death about twenty years 
ago. 

The funeral was held from her late home on October 30 in charge of her pastor, 
Rev. W. W. Chatfield, and her remains laid beside her husband in the East Side 
cemetery, Hubbardston.  The flora l offerings were beautiful and spoke 
eloquently of the esteem in which she was held.
