The deceased was born in New York state, Sept. 25, 1832 and came to Ionia in 1853, where she has lived until her death on Jan. 5th. She was the youngest of a family of 15 children, of whom but two remain to mourn her death: Mrs. E. B. Knowles of this city and Josiah York of Sebewa. Of her own family of 10 children, one son and one daughter survive, Jno C. and Mrs. Mary Kishpaugh of this city. Her pastor, Rev. W. I. Cogsball, spoke of her as a true Christian woman, who had surely gone to the home prepared for her. The singing was by Mrs. Cressy and Mrs. Phelps. The remains of the good woman were tenderly carried by H. A. Rich, A. S. Wright, Benj. Covert and Jno Moore. Interment was in Oak Hill. Card of Thanks: We wish in this way to thank the friends and neighbors who so kindly assisted us during the illness and at death of our beloved mother. Also for the many beautiful floral pieces.
