Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, 8 Sep 1959

Mrs. Lillian May Rhoades, 86, a lifelong resident of Ionia county, died at 6 
p.m. September 6.  She resided at 532 West Lincoln avenue.  She was born March 
13, 1873 at Saranac, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James La Fouche and was 
married to Calvin Rhoades, who preceded her in death in 1947.

Mrs. Rhoades was a member of the First Methodist church and of the Howard 
circle of the church.  She was a member of the Royal Neighbors.

Surviving are a son, James L. Rhoades, and a daughter, Mrs. Madeline Eckert 
Vanden Broeck of Ionia; two grandsons, Keith Rhoades of Grand Rapids and Max 
Eckert of Ionia; one granddaughter, Mrs. Marjorie Moffit of Alexandria, V.; six 
great-grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

Service will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Myers funeral home.  The 
Rev. Heath T. Goodwin will officiate and burial will be at Tuttle cemetery.
