The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Friday, May 9, 1930


Mrs. George W. Rhodes, 63, a lifelong resident of Grattan Center, died 
Thursday, May 8, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Amil Slowinski, following a 
long illness.  Besides the husband she leaves four daughters, Mrs. Seymur 
Lyons, of Grand Rapids; Mrs. Glenn Spicer, of Gaines; Mrs. Amil Slowinski, of 
Ionia; Mrs. Frances Huckleberry, of Grand Rapids; one sons, Elter Rhodes, of 
Grand Rapids; 24 grandchildren and two great grandchildren, one brother, W. A. 
Clemons, of Belding, and a sister, Mrs. Sarah Chase, of Detroit.  The funeral 
will be Sunday at the home of Mrs. and Mrs. Amil Slowinski, 516 Blanchard 
alley, Ionia, at 2:30 Eastern Standard time.  Burial in Belding.
