Rhodes, aged 73, of Belding passed away Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001 at his home. He was born on February 15, 1928 in Belding, the son of Ransome D. and Reva D. Harrington Rhodes. Edward graduated from Belding High School with the Class of 1947, and was a die repairman with Extruded Metals Corp. for 43 years, retiring in 1990. He was a licensed residential maintenance and alteration contractor. He was a member of Belding United Methodist Church. Edward was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. His family was his life. He was married on Dec. 5, 1947, in Belding, to Pauline Spencer. She survives, along with their children, Cheryel and Jim Hamilton of Belding, Cindy and Rick Rogusky of Ionia, Reva Van Zoest and special friend Jim Frost of Belding; his grandchildren, Edward, Tim and Sarah Hall, Jason and Melisa Hall, Scott Hamilton and special friend, Elaina Nash, Danielle and Jason Sibley, Christopher and Sarah Rogusky, Rebecca, Ryan and Rachel VanZoest and five great grandchildren; two brothers and one sister, Dusty Rhodes, George and Ruth Rhodes, Dean and Linton Harwood, all of Belding; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his second mother, Nemma Rhodes Hatfield; three sisters, Evelyn Mason, Ida Bell Bills and Beverly McMeeken. Funeral services are 1 p.m. Saturday at Belding United Methodist Church, 301 S. Pleasant St., Belding. Interment is in River Ridge Cemetery. Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Belding United Methodist Church.
