Daily Sentinel-Standard (Pg. 5) - Monday, April 26, 1948

Mrs. Agnes Rhodes, 81, a native of Sheffield, England, who has resided in 
Belding for the past sixty-five years, died Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock at 
the home of her son, Dewey Rhodes 427 Front street.

Her husband, George Rhodes died in 1919. She made her home with her son since 
1946. From 1940 to 1946 she lived with her daughter, Mrs. Frank Bale, in Grand 
Rapids. Mrs. Rhodes was a member of the Central Methodist church.

She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Roy Bailey of Belding and Mrs. Alice 
Ekkens, Mrs. Frank Bale and Mrs. Lester Orcutt of Mt. Pleasant; three sons, 
Dewey and Ralph of Belding and Harold of Detroit; 17 grandchildren and six 
great-grandchildren. 

Services will be held from the Fitzjohn funeral chapel in Belding Tuesday 
afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with the Rev. J. Ray Gillham officiating. Interment 
will be in River Ridge cemetery.
