Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Thurs. Oct. 23, 1969


Glenn F. Rial, 72 of 519 James, Belding, died Tuesday at St. Mary’s hospital in 
Grand Rapids.

He was born February 9, 1897 at Mayfield, the son of Alvin and Loretta Kertster 
Rial. He was married May 29, 1922, at Belding to Helena Stout who survives. A 
veteran of World War I with the Navy he was past commander of Belding American 
Legion and a 50 year member. Until retirement he was a mail carrier for Belding 
post office and member of the national association of letter carriers. 

Besides his wife he leaves three daughters, Mrs. Eloise Goodreau of Grand 
Rapids, Mrs. Mary Rumisek of Torrance, California, and Mrs. Marie Labelle of 
San Jose, Calif.; one son, Alvin of Belding and ten grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 pm at Huffman funeral home in Belding/ 
Rev. Robert Lilley and members of Belding American Legion will officiate. 
Interment will be at River Ridge cemetery in Belding.

Funeral home visitation hours are Thursday and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 
pm.
