The funeral was held Saturday afternoon, the Rev. F. C. Fistler conducting the service, assisted by the Rev. C. I. Taylor. Mr. Rice had been ill for a number of months and for more than a week the end had been expected momentarily. He was eighty years old. For many years Mr. Rice lived on a farm in Danby but a few years ago moved to a home at the outskirts of the village, where he lived with his youngest daughter. He leaves three children. They are Mrs. Sarah Townner, Mrs. Ethel Guliford, and Miss Olive Rice. Those who attended the funeral from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Barden of Lansing, Mr. and Mrs. Lapo of Lyons and Mr. Clark and daughter of Sebewa.
