Ionia Sentinel Standard, 15 Apr 2005

Vannie I. Rice, age 87, of Ionia, passed away at her home Thursday, April 14, 
2005.  She was born January 18, 1918 in Ronald Twp. the daughter of Eliot and 
Iva (Harter) Millard.  Vannie married Lyle Swanger in Lyons who preceded her in 
death.  She married Floyd Rice in North Plains in 1940 who preceded her in 
death 1985.

She is survived by her son Kenneth Swanger of Ionia; daughters Linda Eaton of 
Ionia, Sally Stahl of Ionia; sisters Merlene Staines of Sheridan, Gene Kinby of 
Belding; friend Keith Eaton; nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and 
six great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter Jennie in 1990.  A memorial service 
will be held 11 a.m., Monday at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia with Rev. Kenneth 
Harger officiating.  Interment Tuttle Cemetery.
