GRAND LEDGE- Arlene Harriet Rice, age 96, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2013 
in Grand Ledge.

She is survived by her children, Judith (Jack) Wynn, James (Lorraine) Rice, and 
Jon (Wendy) Rice; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 3 great-great 
grandchildren.

Arlene was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Harold Rice; parents, 
Ford and Estella (Graft) McCrumb; brother, Arden McCrumb; sister, Jean Hinds. 

Arlene was a longtime member of the Portland Historical Society, Danby Cemetery 
Society, and Grand Haven Presbyterian Church. She loved to sew tailored 
clothing, read and enjoy the birds and flowers that surrounded her home. Arlene 
served as an anchor for her extended family and a positive example for those 
that knew her.

A Graveside Service for friends and family will be held at Danby Township 
Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman Funeral Homes, 
Portland. In Lieu of Flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice, in
