Rice, died at her home near the centerline bridge in Danby on Wednesday last, aged 76 years. Deceased was born at Donnegal, Ireland of Scotch parentage November 21, 1823. In 1847 she came to Tyrone Schuyler county, N. Y., and in 1849 she was married to the husband who survives her. They came to Michigan in 1850 settling in and cutting a home out of the forests on land now comprising Danby cemetery. They have resided in that neighborhood ever since, having lived on the farm where she died 20 years. Card of thanks: To the neighbors and friends who performed for us so many acts of kindness during the last sickness and after the death of our wife and mother, we return our most heartfelt thanks and assure each and everyone that their kindness is appreciated in the highest degree. - John W.
