He had lived on the farm in Ionia township since 1885 and now his body will be taken back to the old home for the services, where the furniture still remains, and where Mrs. Rice’s funeral services were held one year ago in May, at which time Mr. Rice’s condition was considered critical, but in spite of his then advanced age he rallied to live on with his own family, all within the cemetery, and only two sons left to mourn his loss. These had not been located at noon today. Mr. and Mrs. Rice had been married 66 years at the time of her death, shortly after which the old home was closed, and later the aged man was taken in the home of William Conner, where he has been most tenderly cared for. The funeral services will be held at … o’clock Eastern time Tuesday from the old farm home. Rev. M. S. Decker and Rev. Johnston of Muir, will officiate. Burial will take place in Highland Park cemetery.
