Burley V. Rich, 81, of Belding, passed away Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, at St. 
Mary’s Hospital, Grand Rapids.  He was born Nov. 11, 1918, in Belding, the son 
of Leon and Lila Lambertson Rich.

Burley retired in 1979 after 45 years as a tool and die maker at Extruded 
Metals, Belding.  He was a member of the FA&M Lodge 355 in Belding.

His wife Hazel A. Rich preceded him in death on Oct. 30, 1999.  He was also 
preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Evelyn Pearce; and five brothers, 
L. D., Leon Ralph, Harvey, George and Lucas.  He is survived by his children, 
Vicki Chlebek and Monty Rich, both of Belding; his grandchildren, Mary and Rick 
Thacker, Mike and Cherri Chlebek, Mark Chlebek and Pam, Evie Sharkey and Terri 
Richardson; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; one 
brother and two sisters-in-law, Robert and Delores Rich of Belding, Nora Rich 
of Smyrna.

Funeral and committal services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Johnson-Feuerstein 
Funeral Home, Belding, with Pastor Ken Martin officiating.  Burial will be in 
Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding.  Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 and 7 
to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the 
American Heart Association or the Alvah N. Belding Library.
