Carson City Gazette - Thursday, June 4, 1931

William J. Rich was born at Otisco, Mich., July 19, 1855. He was the eldest 
child of Noah and Mary Rich, who moved to Bloomer township in 1875.

He was married to Emma Jane Nickerson in 1879. She died in 1881, leaving one 
son, Owen N. now of Grand Rapids.

He was married in 1885 to Mary D. Fowler, who preceded him in death in 1925, 
leaving a son Henry, of Butternut.

Besides these mentioned, he leaves one sister, Mrs. S.J. Carroll of Muir, one 
brother, E.B. Rich of Holland, Mich., and nine grandchildren.

The principal part of his life has bee spent in agriculture.
