Ionia Sentinel Standard, 5 Jan 1987

Verner Carlyle Richardson, 65, of 636 Crawford St., Ionia, died Dec. 24 as a result
of a heart attack.  He was born Feb. 7, 1921 in Ionia, the son of Charles and Nettie
Richardson.  

He married Cora Randall on April 5, 1954 in Ionia.  He was employed at General Tire
for several years, retiring in 1976.  He served in the U.S. Army in World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Cora; one son, Charles Richardson of Ionia; three step-sons,
Franklin Ward of Central Lake, Michael Ward of Muskegon, and Roger Ward of Grand
Rapids; three daughters, Connie Fox of Portland, Carolyn Harris of Ionia, Pamela
Beilfuss of Grand Rapids; one sister, Barbara Johnson of Sidney, Mont.; 19
grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

Memorial services were held Wednesday at the Hull Funeral Chapel in Muir, the Rev.
Jack Rowe of the Calvery Memorial Assembly of God in Grand Rapids officiating. 
Burial will be in Tuttle Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Ionia Hospice, in
care of the funeral home.  Visitation was held at the funeral home on Wednesday.
