Hastings Reminder - June 28, 2008


CLARKSVILLE – Walter E. “Lefty” Richardson, age 94, Clarksville, passed away on 
Monday, June 23, 2008 at Thornapple Manor in Hastings.

Walter was born in Grand Ledge, on February 27, 1914 to Orville and Bertha 
(Dailey) Richardson.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Frances (Clark) Richardson, children, 
Beverly Hewitt of Clarksville, Joan and Dallas Hunt of Caledonia, Glen 
Richardson of Clarksville, Carol and Bernie Ferris of Lansing and Bonnie and 
Ron Haskins of Lake Odessa; 16 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and one 
great great granddaughter; brother, Don and Eva Richardson; and several nieces 
and nephews.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Bertha; sister, Bessie 
Lumbert; grandson, Stephen Hunt; granddaughter, Frances Marie Richardson; and 
great granddaughter, Stephanie Purvis.

The funeral service was held on Friday, June 27, 2008 at the Koops Funeral 
Chapel in Lake Odessa.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Campbell Township Park, or the 
Thornapple Manor Patient Activity Fund.
