The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Wednesday, July 1, 1970


Mrs. Violet Richards, 63, of 120 Mill died at noon Tuesday following an 
extended illness.  

Born March 1, 1907 in Portland, Ind., she was the daughter of Francis E. and 
Viola Petry Claycomb.  She was a member of Kingdom Hall Jehovah’s Witnesses in 
Ionia.  She was married to Willis Richards, May 25, 1942 in Ionia and had made 
her home here most of her life.

Besides her husband, Willis, she leaves a daughter, Mrs. Virginia O’Donnell of 
Ionia, seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a brother, Kenneth 
Claycomb of Grand Rapids.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Myers-Roetman funeral home.  
Overseer Dennis Dakos of Kingdom Hall Jehovah’s Witnesses will officiate, with 
interment at Highland Park cemetery.
