He was born March 10, 1921 to William Richardson and Adelia Brecheisen Richardson. He married Mary Gladys Shaw in 1941. They had three children, Paul Richardson, Sue Skeen, and Cheryl Thomas, all surviving. Also surviving grandchildren include Shannon Wilson, Mark and Craig Richardson; Sarah, Rebecah and Amanda Skeen; and Tina Colon. There are also two great-grandsons, Logan and Blake Wilson. His current wife, Mae Richardson, survives although in a nursing home in Michigan. He was a veteran of world War II in the Pacific. Clarence spent his career in the furniture industry working in management at the Grand Ledge Chair Factory in Grand Ledge, and manufacturing manager at the Charlotte Chair Factory in Charlotte, and Superior Furniture in Lowell. He was an artist as a furniture maker and made any pieces for relatives and occasionally others. He loved to fish and hunt. He, Paul and Lois (Rusty) Tasker would go ice fishing most Saturdays each winter. Other hobbies included searching for agates, traveling the U.S. and puttering around his workshop. He and Gladys lived in Grand Ledge at 8817 S. Hartel Road for many years and then moved to Morrison Lake. Gladys died in 1977. He married Mae Freese in October of 1981. They lived at Higgins Lake for 18 years after he retired and Florida for about a year and a half before finally moving to Idaho to live with Sue. A memorial service will be held on Memorial Day, May 26, 2003, at Central United Methodist Church in Lake Odessa at 11 a.m. with interment to follow at the Lake Odessa Cemetery.
