RICHARDS DIES TUESDAY OF TYPHOID FEVER AT HOME OF WIFE'S PEOPLE IN DANBY, MR. AND MRS. WILLETS. Surprised and saddened indeed were the many, many friends here of Herm Richards to bear Tuesday that he had just died. Scarcely could they believe it, true as it was. He and his wife had gone there some six or eight weeks ago to assist in caring for her people who were then sick with typhoid fever Herman it seems contracted the disease with the above result, strong, hearty and active as he was. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon from the Methodist church the service being conducted by the pastor Rev. J. C. Cook and interment was made in Lakeside cemetery. Herman was a great favorite with his many young men friends, being especially remembered as the very able catcher for the Lake Odessa ball team, as well as helping out in that capacity in between times for other teams as for instance Woodland and Sunfield. He was a good all around player and put much life into the game. In his other work as farmer or day laborer he was ready and willing and always had a glad hand for all. Additional Comments: OBITUARY Herm G. Richards was born Feb. 9, 1879 in Woodland township just south east of this village. He was the second son of Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Richards. He was married April 2, 1902 to Miss Bertha Willets of Danby who with a little daughter four years old, a mother, a sister and a brother are left to mourn a great loss. Herman had always been well and was counted on as being more than usually tough and rugged, but such is the uncertainty life. The Wave joins with the many friends in extending deep sympathy to the bereaved ones.
