                         MERRILL F. RICHARDS

PORTLAND-Merrill F. Richards, 57, of 5381 West Grand River avenue, Portland, 
died Wednesday a this home.

He was born February 28, 1930, the son of Francis and Katherine Nelson Richards. 
He was a self-employed mechanic.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly; three sons, LeRoy and Eugene of Portland 
and Charles of Hubbardston; one daughter Rosemary Ferguson of Sunfield; 12 
grandchildren; four brothers, Clifford of Evansville, Ind., Milton of Lyons, 
Donald of Hubbardston, and Robert of Mason; four sisters,Katherine Cook of 
Flint, Betty Link of Montague, Mary Milko of Westland, and Billy Miller of 
Ludington.

A son, Merrill Jr., of Ionia, preceded him in death in a truck accident in July 
1986.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 3 p.m. from the Neller Funeral Home of 
Portland, the Rev. Stanley Finkbeiner of the Portland United Methodist Church 
officiating. Burial will be in Sundset Memorial Gardens, Ionia.
