Richmond, 75, of Belding, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2002, at Spectrum Health-Butterworth Campus, Grand Rapids. He was born May 4, 1927, in Smyrna, the son of Frank and Dorothy Youngs Richmond. Charles attended Shiloh Community Church. He was a member of VFW Post 4406, Belding, American Legion Post 203, Belding, the North American Hunter and a life member of the National Rifle Association. Charles enjoyed camping in Evart and loved fishing and would usually give away most of his catch. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He married Betty Davis on May 28, 1948, and she preceded him in death on Feb. 4, 1999. After her death, he enjoyed the company of his special canine companion, Missy. He was also preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Joyce Simmons and Bessie Richmond. He is survived by two sons and two daughters, Ralph L. and Thelma Richmond of Duluth, Minn., Terry Richmond of Orleans, Donna Holbrook of Greenville, Cathy and Philip Wilson of Fenwick; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; his brothers and sisters, June and Jack Grounds of Gowen, Bob and Jesse Oswald of Holt, Frank and Rose Richmond, Ralph and Elsie Richmond, all of Greenville; and his stepfather, Collins Miller of Belding.
