Ionia Sentinel - Standard
Alice Alspaugh Richmond, 82, formerly of Ionia, died Sunday evening at a 
Charlotte hospital.  A retired elementary teacher, Mrs. Richmond lived with a 
niece, Eileen Latimer of 217 High St., for the past eight years.  Mrs. Richmond 
was born December 5, 1895 in Ionia county, the daughter of James Henry Alspaugh 
and Mae Elizabeth Fleming.  She was a member of Lawrence Avenue United Methodist 
church in Charlotte, the Mary Circle of the church and the Michigan Education 
Association.

She is survived by her niece; one step-son, Jim Richmond of Newberry; four step-
grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 
 
Services are Wednesday at 10 am from the Burkhead funeral chapel in Charlotte 
with Rev Verne C. Summers officiating.  Burial is in the Ortonville cemetery 
with graveside services at 3 pm.  A memorial fund is established for the 
Lawrence Avenue United Methodist church.
