The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Friday, November 9, 1956


Mary B. Richter, 69, of 659 North Jackson street, Ionia died at 4:45 a.m. 
Friday at the Ionia County Memorial hospital where she had been a patient for 
one day.  Mrs. Richter was born December 19, 1886 and attended St. John’s 
Lutheran schools and was married to the Rev. Karl Richter.  She had resided in 
Ionia for the past three years.

She and the Rev. Richter resided through his ministry in Newfane, and Buffalo, 
N.Y. and Manchester, Conn.  He preceded her in death four years ago.  Mrs. 
Richter was a member of St. Paul Lutheran church in Ionia.

Surviving are three sons, Walter Richter of Williamsburg, Pa.; Gerald of 
Orange, Conn.; Harold of Milwaukee, Wis.; three brothers, Fred J. Speckin and 
Louis R. Speckin of Ionia and William K. Speckin of Grand Rapids.

Funeral services are incomplete, pending the arrival of her sons.  Arrangements 
are in care of the Phelps funeral chapel.
