Sentinel Standard - Monday, May 28, 1951

The Rev. Karl Richter, 69, of Grand Rapids died Saturday, May 26, at the home of 
his son, Harold, after an illness of several months.

Rev. Richter was bornin Ionia, April 14, 1882. After attending Fort Wayne 
college and Concordia Seminary, he served pastorates in New fane, Pekin and 
Buffalo, NY., and Manchester, Conn. He served for 17 years in Manchester. 

He retired from active ministry in May, 1950, and with his wife, Mary, moved to 
Grand Rapids to make his home with his son. 

Surviving are the wife and three sons, Harold of Grand Rapids, Jerry of Orange, 
Conn., and Walter of Trenton, N.J.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, at the home of his 
brother-in-law, Louis R. Speckin, 617 North Jackson street. Sr. Ralph J. White 
of Trinity Lutheran church, Grand Rapids, will officiate. Interment will be in 
Highland Park cemetery.
