Cecil E. Rickard, 69, of 9615 Peck Lake road, Saranac, died Thursday morning at 
Grand Rapids Osteopathic hospital where he was a patient the past couple weeks.

Born March 11, 1902, at Red Jacket he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. William 
Rickard.

He was employed 17 years at Ionia State hospital and a resident of Saranac 25 
years coming there from Detroit.  He was a veteran of World War II and member 
of Saranac American Legion.

He was married June 15, 1940, to Ella B. Jevons, who survives as do a stepson, 
Arthur Masch of Saranac; sister, Mrs. Thelma Mallist? of Detroit and two step 
grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Morris-Roetman funeral home in 
Saranac.  Pastor Joe Everrett will officiate.  Cremation will follow.  A 
memorial has been established for the cancer fund.
