Lowell Ledger, 20 Nov 1941

Emma Rickner -   Funeral services were held at the Roth Chapel Tuesday afternoon
for Mrs. Louis A. Rickner, 73, who passed away early Sunday morning at St.
Mary’s hospital, Grand Rapids, where she was taken Nov. 3 following a stroke at
her home southeast of Lowell.  The Rev. C. E. Pollock officiated and burial was
made in South Boston cemetery.

Obituary Sketch:

Emma M. Towl was born in Boston tp., Ionia county, October 26, 1868, the
daughter of Silas and Martha Towl.  On April 26, 1886, she was united in
marriage to Louis A. Rickner.  To this union were born three children. 
Surviving are the husband, two sons, Loyal and Leslie of Lowell; one daughter,
Mrs. Maude Oesch of Keene tp., ten grandchildren, one great granddaughter; one
brother, Ben Towl of Grand Ledge and other relatives.  Mrs. Rickner had lived
her entire life-time in Boston and Lowell townships.  She was of a quiet nature
and was a lover of home, her home duties always coming first in her life.  The
sincere sympathy of many friends and neighbors is extended to the bereaved
members of her family.
