Rickner, aged 84 years, passed away Tuesday morning, April 9, 1946, at the home of his son, Loyal W. Rickner, following a long illness. Mr. Rickner was born September 9, 1861, in Sherwood, Branch County, Michigan, the son of Charles and Christiana Rickner. He came to Boston township with his parents when a small boy and was married April 26, 188_ to Emma M. Towl of South Boston. To this union three children were born. Mr. and Mrs. Rickner had lived in Boston and Lowell townships nearly all their lives, Mrs. Rickner passing away in November, 1941. Surviving are two sons, Loyal of Lowell and Leslie of Grand Rapids; one daughter, Mrs. Maude Oesch of Keene; five granddaughters; five grandsons, two of whom are serving with the armed forces overseas; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Aldrich of Los Angeles, Calif., and several nieces. The body reposes at the Roth Chapel, where funeral services will be held Friday afternoon, at 2:30, Rev. C. E. Pollock officiating. Burial in South Boston cemetery.
