He was born on July 23, 1942 in Greenville, the son of Paul and Lucille (Rice) Ridenour. Charles served in the Army in Vietnam for six years and was a member of the Portland V.F.W. He was also a Portland resident for most of his life. He is survived by his sister, Beverly Richards of Sheridan; niece, Rosemary (Michael) Wolverton of Sheridan; nephews, Leroy Richards of Clarksville, Charles Richards of Hubbardston, Eugene (Kimberly) Richards of Lansing, and Eugene (Julie) Ridenour of Portland; 16 great-nieces and nephews; and 18 great- great nieces and nephews. Many thanks to the Grand Rapids Veterans Home staff including; nurses, doctors, and volunteers who helped care for Charlie during his 15 years there. According the family wishes cremation has taken place with a graveside service being held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 13, at Portland Cemetery.
