Portland Review & Observer - April 8, 2007


Charles Royal Ridenour, 64, of Portland, passed away on April 2, 2007.

He was born on July 23, 1942 in Greenville, the son of Paul and Lucille (Rice) 
Ridenour. Charles served in the Army in Vietnam for six years and was a member 
of the Portland V.F.W. He was also a Portland resident for most of his life.

He is survived by his sister, Beverly Richards of Sheridan; niece, Rosemary 
(Michael) Wolverton of Sheridan; nephews, Leroy Richards of Clarksville, 
Charles Richards of Hubbardston, Eugene (Kimberly) Richards of Lansing, and 
Eugene (Julie) Ridenour of Portland; 16 great-nieces and nephews; and 18 great-
great nieces and nephews.

Many thanks to the Grand Rapids Veterans Home staff including; nurses, doctors, 
and volunteers who helped care for Charlie during his 15 years there.

According the family wishes cremation has taken place with a graveside service 
being held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 13, at Portland Cemetery. Online
