Ionia Sentinel, Monday, July 31, 1995

STANTON - Anna K. Rider, 87, of Half Moon Lake, formerly of Ionia, died Sunday, 
July 30, 1995 at the Belding Christian Nursing Home.

She was born Feb. 19, 1908 in Fowler, the daughter of Steven and Barbara 
(Befot) Kowatch and came to Ionia as a child where she was educated.  She 
worked many years at Ypsilanti-Reed Furniture Company and A.C. Spark Plug.  She 
retired from Fisher Body in Flint.  She was married to William Leo Rider on 
Feb. 12, 1949 and he preceded her in death.

Surviving are one son: Frank (Darlene) Wirtz, of Greenville; step-children: 
William (Renita) Rider, of Davidson, Marshall Rider, of Indiana, Donna Cook, of 
Lakeview, Ed Donan, of Indiana, and Betty and Inez; 36 grandchildren; 28 great-
grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; one sister: Rose Connor, of Ionia; 
and nieces and nephews.  She was also preceded in death by brothers Steve, 
Albert, John and Joe Kowatch.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Cook Funeral Home 
with Rev. Kenneth Harger of Shiloh Community Church officiating.  Interment 
will be at Highland Park Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Tuesday from 7 p.m. 
to 8:30 p.m. at the Rich St. Chapel.  Memorial contributions may be made to the 
donor’s choice.
