He had been ill about one year. He had lived in the Belding area 10 years and prior to that had lived in Ionia. A World War I veteran, he was a member of the Hugo Fales American Legion Post at Belding. He was born in Montcalm county April 20, 1896. His wife, Marguerite, died April 7, 1925. Two children also preceded him in death. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Albert Randall of Lansing, and a brother, Leo Rider of Flint. Funeral service will be held at Myers funeral home Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Floyd A. Emshwiller of First Christian church officiating. Burial will be at North Plains cemetery.
