The son of Francis H. and Jeanette F. Sherman Rieckman, he was born March 18, 1959 in Belding. Mike was a 1977 graduate of Greenville High School and was employed at Vertis (formerly Printco) as a pre-press operator. He loved to golf and also enjoyed a good cigar. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Squadron at Ray I. Booth American Legion Post 101 in Greenville. He is survived by his children, Beth J. Rieckman, Craig A. Rieckman, both of Greenville; granddaughter, Lauren J. King; parents, Francis “Bud” and Jeanette Rieckman of Oakfield Township; two sisters and one brother, Diane Marie Rickerman of Cedar Springs, Julie Ann Laster of Belding, Daniel Lee Rieckman of Greenville; maternal aunts and uncles, Chuck and Carol Sherman, Arlene Davis, Susan and Larry Rhanor; Joel and Betty Sherman, Nora and Amos Sharp, Donna and Mike Toth, Joyce and John Schutte, Terry Sherman; paternal uncles and aunts, James and Bea Rieckman, Ralph and Edla Rieckman, John Rieckman; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Brown-Teman & Christiansen Funeral Home, Greenville, with Pastor Tom Dolph of Oakfield Baptist Church officiating. Honoring Michael wishes, cremation will follow the service in Myrtle Park Crematorium, Rockford. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today. Over the past two years, Michael had been growing his hair out to donate to Locks of Love. The family suggests that for a lasting tribute to Mike’s memory, contributions be directed to Locks of Love.
