The funeral services will be held from the Bradley funeral home Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock with Rev. Paul L. Stewart in charge. The interment will take place in the family lot in the Saranac cemetery. Mr. Rier was a native of Saskatchewan, Canada, where he lived until eight years of age. At this age he accompanied his parents, a brother, and two sisters to Ionia county, his mother dying soon after the family arrived here. He went in to upper Michigan when about 25 years of age; where he spent five years in the Rockland copper mines. October 6, 1909 he was united in marriage to Miss Florence Sistem, who with the three daughters, Gladys, Lucille and Beatrice May survive him. He also leaves a brother, John Rier, of Ronald. A sister, Mrs. J. R. Walker died about a year ago. In 1916 Mr. Rier moved his family to a little farm west of Prairie Creek, where they lived until last…(reminder is missing).
