Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 24 Jun 1933

John K. Rier, 74, of Ronald, died of a heart seizure at his home, one and
one-half miles west of Palo Friday night.  He was taken ill outside of the house
and fell to the ground.  Members of his family carried him inside but he expired
before the arrival of a physician.

The body is at the Stebbins funeral home where services will be conducted Monday
afternoon at 1:30 and those at the Easton church following at 2 o’clock.  The
burial will be in Easton cemetery.

Mr. Rier, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Rier, was born in Canada, but came to this
vicinity when he was a small child and had lived several years in his late home.

Surviving are the widow and five children, Floyd and Lester at home; Fred, of
Rochester; Milo, of Bellair; Mrs. Margaret Barr, Orleans, and seven grandchildren.
