When five years old he came with his parents to Michigan and spent most of his life in Easton township, Ionia County. He moved to Ronald township in 1913. On Feb. 23, 1884 he was married to Almeda Hodge. To this union were born seven children, two of whom, Lena and Luella, have preceded him in death. The surviving children are: Fred of Rockford, Michigan, Floyd and Lester at home, Milo of Bellaire and Mrs. George Marr of Orleans. Besides Mrs. Rier and the children, he leaves seven grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. All of his life he had been a farmer. Shortly after his marriage he became a member of the Easton Methodist Episcopal church. He lacked but seven months of completing fifty years of married life. He is the last of a family of six children to be claimed by death. The funeral was held Monday afternoon at the Easton Methodist church, Floyd N. Drake, pastor of the Palo Methodist church officiating, Rev. John Young of the Ionia Gospel Mission assisted. Burial was in the Easton Cemetery.
