Portland Review & Observer 9 Jul 2006

Clara E. Ries, 79, of Portland, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on
June 30, 2006.  She was born on April 15, 1927 in Orange Township the daughter
of Adrian and Elizabeth Ries.  Clara was a member of Portland United Methodist
Church and retired from Central Soya.  She enjoyed her grandchildren very much
and loved reading, crocheting, and the Detroit Tigers.  She was always willing
to put other people first.

Clara was preceded in death by her parents and brother John Alberta.  She is
survived by her son Glenn (Denise) Ries of Portland; daughter Yvonne (Larry)
Kelley of Charlotte; six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Services were held on July 3, at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Homes, Portland. 
Memorial Contributions can be made out to the First United Methodist Church in
Portland or to the Great Lakes Hospice.
