Ionia Sentinel-Standard Weekender - Sat. July 13, 2013

Duane A. Ries, 85, of Tenino, Wash., previously of Sault St. Marie and Apache 
Junction, Ariz., a former business owner in Portland, passed away on June 18, 
2013 due to Complications from a September fall.

While residing in Apache Junction, he and his wife were very active in the Elks 
organization as he became Exalted Ruler.

He is survived by his daughter, Yvonne Kelley (Larry) of Charlotte; son, Glenn 
Ries (Denise) of Portland, and six step-children. He had several grandchildren, 
including three grandsons, A.J. Preston (Allison) of Charlotte, Casey Ries 
(Erin) of Grand Ledge, Ryan Ries (Rachel) of Ada. He also has two nieces and 
many great and great great grandchildren.

His wife, Christine; son, Dan; parents; and three brothers, Earl L., Paul and 
Glenn, preceded him in death.

A family memorial will be held at a later date.
