Ries, 533 East Washington street, died Wednesday morning at Traverse City of a heart attack. He had been in poor health for the past year. He is survived by his wife, Daisy; three sons, Paul of Lansing, LaVear of Brighton and Duane in Maryland in the armed forces; five brothers, Herman of Toledo, O.; Bert of Lansing, Clinton and Otis of Ionia, and Silas of Lansing; two sisters, Lottie Fulks of Detroit and Mrs. Mary Hutchinson of Fayette, Ohio. He was born January 17, 1880 in Williams county, Ohio and was the oldest of nine children. He came to Ionia in 1911 and had been a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose since 1913, and was a member of the Church of Christ. He was employed by the Olds Fisher Body Corporation in Lansing for 17 years. The body will be brought to Boynton funeral home and arrangements will be announced later.
