Ionia Sentinel Standard, 23 May 1970

Fred Riggle, 89, of route 2, Saranac, died Thursday evening at Ionia Manor.  He 
was born July 29, 1880 in Fremont township, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Riggle 
and was a resident of Saranac area since 1929.  He had been a farmer most of 
his life.  In 1911 he was married in Freemont township.

Surviving are a son, Robert Riggle of Saranac; two daughters, Mrs. Elsie Wilson 
of Battle Creek and Mrs. Martha Pease of Flint; one sister, Mrs. Ethel Cazzatt 
of Shepard; nine grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Morris-Roetman funeral home in 
Saranac.  Rev. John Hancock will officiate.  The graveside services will be at 
2:30 p.m. at Union cemetery at Winn.
