Mrs. Riker was born in Lyons June 3, 1872, the daughter of John and Margeret Kelley and lived all of her life in Lyons and vicinity until she was taken to the Hawley convalescent home in Muir a few years ago. She was married to Frank Riker and they lived on a farm near Lyons before moving into the village. He died several years ago. About three weeks ago she was taken to Butterworth hospital after she received a broken bone in her leg just below her hip. Mrs. Riker is survived by three sons, Frank of Detroit, who works on a ship on the Great Lakes, Stanley of Jackson and Cecil of Wolverine; four daughters, Mrs. Bessie Magee, Mrs. Agatha Regan, Lansing, Mrs. Florence Green, Portland, Mrs. Thelma Doherty, Kalamazoo. Mrs. Riker’s twin sister, Mrs. Bessie Allen lives in Lyons. Mrs. Allen and Mrs. Riker were believed to be the oldest twins in the area. They usually celebrated birthdays together when their health permitted. Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. from the Shaw-Rivett funeral home in Muir with burial in the Lyons cemetery.
