Lowell Ledger, 8 Feb 1906

Mrs. Edmund Ring died Saturday at her home here.  Funeral services were held 
Tuesday at the Alton church, conducted by Rev. Russell H. Bready of Lowell, and 
interment was made in Smyrna cemetery.  Clarissa Ann Hoyt was born at Sheldon, 
N.Y., Feb. 2, 1843, and moved with her parents when eight years old to 
Independence, Ohio.  She was married to Edmund Ring, June 10, 1849.  To this 
union were born three girls.  In 1850 they moved to Michigan by an overland 
route, and settled in Grattan.  During that Fall they went to Otisco.  They 
remained there until May 10, 1864, when they moved to Vergennes, where they 
have since lived.  She has been an invalid and a great sufferer for a great 
many years.  She leaves to mourn her loss a husband, one daughter, seven 
grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends who will greatly miss 
her.
