Tena Rischow, 84, of 12288 South Keefer Highway, Sunfield, died Sunday at her 
residence.

She was born May 23, 1904 in The Netherlands, the daughter of William and Lucy 
Bartels Hoogeveen, and came with her family while a child to the U.S.

She lived and attended school in Grand Rapids and worked in a grocery store 
until her marriage to Carl Rischow on March 20, 1930, after which they moved to 
their home on Keefer Highway where they lived the rest of their lives.  He died 
Dec. 3, 1980.

She was a member of Sebewa Center United Methodist Church and the past president 
of the United Methodist Women of the church.  She was also a member of Sunfield 
Senior Citizens.

Surviving are a son, Max Rischow of Lake Odessa; two grandchildren, Michael 
Rischow of Woodland and Pam Underwood of Pontiac; four great grandchildren; and 
a sister who lives in Muskegon.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 pm from the Mapes-Fischer Funeral home, 
Sunfield.  Burial will be in East Sebewa Cemetery. A memorial for the Sebewa 
Center United Methodist Church has been established, in care of the funeral 
home.
