Naida Jean Rising, age 90, of Woodland passed on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2015 at
Brookdale Senior Living in Lansing.  Naida was born on January 1, 1925 in Ionia to
Clarence and Lelo Mae (Shroyer) Miller.  She was a 1942 graduate of Clarksville High
School, then County Normal College with a degree in education.  Naida taught in
several rural schools, social worker, secretary and bookkeeper.  She enjoyed
flowers, birds and crossword puzzles.

Survivors include, daughter, Carol (Dan) Marsh; stepsons, Steven Rising, Bradley
(Robin) Rising and Marty (Kandance) Rising; 12 grandchildren and seven
great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by husbands, Richard Cook, Peter
Olsen and Gene Rising; son, Vaughn Cook; sister, Arita Smith and brother, Lawrence
Miller.

Visitation is planned for Thursday, Dec. 17 at 10 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church,
6261 Velte Rd. Woodland, MI 48897.  Funeral services are planned for Thursday, Dec.
17, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church.  Internment will take place following
the service at Woodland Memorial Park.  Memorials are suggested to Zion Lutheran
Church.
