Rites Today for Blake W. Rising

Blake W. Rising, 88, of Woodland passed away Monday morning at the Barry County 
Medical Care Facility at Hastings. He had been a patient there for the last five 
years.

He was born September 13, 185 in Barry county, son of Elmer and Cora (Hatton) 
Rising. He had been a lifelong resident of the Woodland area and retired from 
farming in 1960.

Mr. Rising was a member of the Woodland Zion Lutheran church. He married Clara 
Neithamer April 23, 1923 at Woodland. She survives; also a son, Gene of 
Christainsted, St.Croix, Virgin Islands; three grandsons and a sister Mrs.Clair 
Durkee of Hastings.

Mr. Rising reposed at Pickens-Koops Funeral Chapel where funeral services will 
be held at 11 AM Thursday (today). Rev. Randall Metz will officiate and burial 
will be in Lakeside cemetery.
