Risser, 68, who died Friday afternoon, Feb. 23, as the result of a heart ailment, will be held from the Myers funeral home, Monday afternoon, Feb. 26, at 2 o’clock. Interment will be in Easton cemetery. John Risser was born October 7, 1871, the son of Andrew and Mary Risser of Washington, Illinois. He spent most of his childhood in Washington. He later moved to Minnesota and while there he became a member of the Presbyterian church in 1892. In 1902 he returned to Illinois and shortly after his return he married Estella M. Bogart, on March 8, 1909. He was well known in Ionia having lived here with his wife and son, John Kenneth, for 12 years before moving to Hartford. He remained in Hartford until about four months ago when he returned to Ionia. Surviving are the widow, Estella; one son, John Kenneth Risser, at home; one brother, August V. Risser; a niece, Mrs. Jake Emelander; a nephew, Anthony A. Risser and three great-nieces, Joan Emelander, and Marcia and Shirley Risser.
