Ionia Daily Semtinel-Standard - Tues. July 17, 1984


IONIA – Dorothy Risser, 74, formerly of 425 W. Main St., Ionia, died Monday at 
Shiawassee Medical Facility in Corunna, Michigan.

She was born march 28, 1910 in Ionia, the daughter of William and Emma May 
Piper Bensinger.

She married Andrew Risser on May 28, 1832. He preceeded her in death February 
26, 1972.

She was a member of the First Christian Church and a member of the Eastern 
Star. She was a former school teacher in Ionia County.

She helped her husband at the Borgman Heating and Plumbing, formerly located on 
Main St. Ionia.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Shirley Spencer of St. Johns and Mrs. Marcia 
Bolo of Florida; three brothers, William Bensinger of Ionia, Edward Bensinger 
of Grand Rapids and Benjamin Bensinger of Boyne City; one sister, Kate Birnie 
of Flint; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the First Christian Church.

Burial will be in Balcom Cemetery.

Friends may meet the family at Roetman Funeral Home on Tuesday and Wednesday 
from 7-9 p.m.
